Why everyone keeps coming back.

Located on the scenic Calle Degollada in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Bar restaurante Degollada de Peraza offers a genuine and down-to-earth bar & grill experience that beautifully complements its stunning natural surroundings. This local gem is a haven for hikers and food lovers alike, providing hearty, satisfying meals at very reasonable prices, paired with breathtaking views of the valley and sea that instantly uplift your spirit.

While it’s not a high-end destination, what Degollada de Peraza lacks in fancy frills it more than makes up for with warmth, authentic flavors, and an inviting atmosphere. Customers often highlight the friendly and welcoming staff who make every visit feel personal, whether you are refueling after a strenuous hike or simply seeking a relaxing spot to enjoy the landscape.

The menu embraces local island cuisine with standout dishes loved by visitors—imagine savoring a comforting bowl of potaje de berro (watercress soup) or crispy, deep-fried mushrooms that deliver a perfect mix of texture and flavor. Chickpeas served here come in generous portions, rich and wholesome, ensuring you leave both full and content. These dishes offer not only nourishment but a true taste of Tenerife’s culinary heart.

Many reviewers appreciate the excellent value for money, as well as the truly unbeatable atmosphere created by the panoramic vistas. Romain Declerck captures this sentiment perfectly, praising the great food, friendly people, and beautiful views, musing that the surprisingly low rating doesn't reflect the experience. Similarly, Villads Legaard and Jesus Martinez emphasize the harmony of delicious food, welcoming environment, and the scenic backdrop.

It’s important to note that while some may find the vibe a bit straightforward—Maximum Bombastic described it as “mid” rather than a full-fledged destination—the essence of Degollada de Peraza lies in its simplicity and genuine service. It’s exactly the kind of place where the food and views do the talking, offering an authentic slice of local life far from the tourist crowds.

Whether you’re pausing on a hiking trail to refuel with a robust coffee and snacks or settling in for a casual meal, Bar restaurante Degollada de Peraza invites you to experience a heartfelt connection to Tenerife’s natural beauty and traditional flavors. The no-frills dining room, combined with the chirpy friendliness of the staff, makes it a memorable stop for anyone eager to explore the island beyond the usual tourist paths.

For travelers seeking an unpretentious yet deeply satisfying culinary break in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, this bar & grill delivers with sincerity, flavor, and charm. Don’t miss this spot to recharge, indulge your senses, and soak up some of the island’s best vistas.

Absolute life saver to get a coffee and provision water and snacks if you're hiking across the island. But the vibe was pretty mid. Definitely not a "destination" as they advertise on their website.

I can't believe some of the reviews of this place, what are you complaining about? After flogging up here on a bike from Playa Santiago my wife and I stopped to have cake/coffee more than once. It's typical of this kind of place in Spain with welcoming staff, an immaculate stainless steel bar and good coffee for far less than I'd pay back at home (1E20 for a Cortado). The lemon cake was great and the lady cut me an outrageously large portion (clearly I looked hungry/skinny).

I’ve stopped here a couple of times for a hot drink while cycling. Coffee is outstanding. Haven’t tried food but it looked good. Nice, non-fussy seating areas. Bet the views are great when not in cloud! Friendly staff. Good selection of snacks.
